Joe Piscitello to Moderate Vision Zero Best Practices Session at 2018 Conference in Philadelphia

We are proud to announce that Attorney Joe Piscitello will moderate a session at the 2018 Vision Zero for Philadelphia Conference. Hosted by the Bicycle Coalition of Philadelphia, the conference seeks to encourage conversation about improving street safety in the city.

Mayor Jim Kenney is kicking off the 3^rd annual event with a keynote address. From 10:30am to 11:30am, our own Joe Piscitello will moderate the “Vision Zero Best Practices” panel. In the session, speakers will discuss strategies from around the country and world that have been successfully implemented to promote Vision Zero. Panelists from New York City, Washington DC and Philadelphia will provide their perspectives on designing safer streets for people of every age.

Speakers include:

• David Shepard – Families for Safer Streets, NYC
• Mary Cheh – Councilperson, Council of the District of Columbia
• Angela Foreshaw-Rouse – Manager, State Operations & Community Outreach, AARP
• Helen Gym, Philadelphia Councilmember At-Large

Each year, nearly 100 people are killed, and thousands are injured from preventable traffic crashes on the streets of Philadelphia. While last year’s numbers (96) represents a decline from 2016 (103), the number of deaths remains unacceptably high. We are collectively finding ways to mitigate this crisis.
