Yesterday, Families for Safer Streets and the Philadelphia Bicycle Coalition organized an event calling for increased safety for pedestrians and cyclists. The event took place on 11th & Spruce street which marks the tragic bike-truck crash location involving Emily Fredericks who was commuting to work in 2017. Family speakers demanded greater city funding to create more protected bike lanes and to improve the condition of current bike lanes. These, and other issues are part of the upcoming Vision Zero conference set for March 16, 2019.
