Neighborhood Bike Works
Supporting Our Community Through Neighborhood Bike Works: A Long-standing Collaboration

Piscitello Law has had a relationship with Neighborhood Bike Works for many years. Starting back in 2014, we supported this Philadelphia-based organization and were thrilled to be recognized with a signed kit by the NBW members (image below).
More recently, we have worked together in collaboration with the annual Philly Bike Expo. NBW runs the free Bike Parking Valet so that visitors to the two-day Bike Expo can safely park their bikes indoors. Piscitello Law is thrilled to underwrite this service and support NBW in this unique collaboration. NBW has great visibility on the ground floor of the convention center, and they are generally the first few folks that bike expo visitors greet when attending the expo.

Why we support NBW
The mission of NBW is to empower youth and adults to build essential life skills and make critical connections through the bicycle community. One of their flagship projects is Mel’s Community Bike Shop, a vibrant hub bringing people together to learn side by side, share knowledge, and create lasting connections.
NBW has some impressive metrics for successful engagement during the past year (2024), including:
- 174 youth participated in ride and repair programs—a 16% increase.
- 98 students earned bikes and gained maintenance skills, a 51% increase.
- 43 youth earned paychecks through leadership roles.
- Participants collectively biked 5,263 miles across 139 rides.
- 599 adults joined our Bike Church program.
- 56 adults completed our Adult Repair Class.
- 2,449 customers were served by Mel’s Bike Shop.
