Piscitello Law Teams Up with CAT/Bethlehem for the First Bike Broad Event
On Saturday, September 12, 2026, Broad Street in Bethlehem will look completely different - and we’re thrilled to help make it happen. The inaugural Bike Broad event will open one of the city’s busiest corridors to people instead of cars, giving residents and visitors a chance to walk, bike, and roll freely along a car‑free Broad Street.
Hosted by the Coalition for Appropriate Transportation (CAT) in partnership with the City of Bethlehem, Bike Broad offers a rare opportunity to experience what safer, people‑centered streets can feel like. According to Bethlehem Mayor J. William Reynolds “Bike Broad is exactly the kind of community event that reflects Bethlehem at its best: active, welcoming, connected and forward-thinking.”
Experience Broad Street Like Never Before
The day kicks off at 9:00 a.m. at the Bethlehem Rose Garden, where participants can travel the length of Broad Street before returning for a community festival featuring live music, food vendors, local businesses, community organizations, and the Bethlehem Rose Garden Farmers’ Market. The festival runs until noon and is designed to bring families, cyclists, pedestrians, and neighbors together in a welcoming, low‑stress environment.
Supporting Safer Streets
Bike Broad is more than a fun Saturday morning. It’s a chance for Lehigh Valley residents to experience Bethlehem’s Complete Streets vision firsthand. Future improvements will include:
- Protected bicycle lanes
- Traffic‑calming measures
- Improved pedestrian crossings
Events like this help people imagine what safer, more accessible streets could look like - and why these changes matter.
Our Connection to the Lehigh Valley
Piscitello Law has deep roots in the Lehigh Valley. Joe Piscitello grew up in Easton, began cycling in high school, and trained at the iconic Trexlertown Velodrome. Nearly a decade ago, we met Scott Slingerland, CAT’s executive director, and have proudly supported the organization’s mission ever since. Reconnecting with Scott at the Philly Bike Expo in March 2026 reminded us how connected and energized the region’s cycling community has become. (See image below.)
