Little Bellas

undefinedAfter hearing Caitlin Thompson talk about her work with Little Bella’s, we were hooked!

Philly pro-cyclist Thompson founded the Philadelphia Chapter of Little Bella’s which has its roots in Vermont. The Little Bella organization was started in 2007 when several competitive female cyclists decided to do something about the lack of female athletes in the sport. They created Little Bellas with a mission to help young women realize their potential through cycling. The organization creates a local community focused on positive energy, healthy life styles and goal setting with young girls aged 7-13 in mind.

Currently, there are Little Bella chapters around the country. The Philly Little Bella’s consist of roughly 35 young athletes who will meet and train together in August and September 2019 in West Fairmount park. Their training includes eight sessions on Sunday evenings along with their own cycling team jersey. For more info on Little Bella’s please look here:

Little Bellas will participate in the Philly Mountain Bike Phestival set for Jun 9, 2019.

The Phestival takes place at the Philly Pumptrack, located along The Wissahickon.

The family friendly day includes all skill levels and guided rides through the Wiss.

What to Do After a Bike Crash

  • If police arrive, communicate any physical complaints you have at that moment.

  • Document what happened & your injuries. Don't downplay your injuries!

  • Get your version of events, driver's & witness' details in the accident report.

  • Preserve evidence & seek advice from a professional.
