Franklin County Cyclists

Thanks to John Dawes and Jeff Welty for inviting us to speak with the Board of the Franklin County Cyclists on May 6, 2025. While board members enjoyed some snacks and local beers from Gearhouse Brewing, in Chambersburg, the team from Piscitello Law joined the call by video. Board members were interested in better understanding their responsibilities in managing club rides, and policies and procedures needed to follow best practices. Conversation also covered how the FCC should handle instances if/when club members are involved in a crash. Additionally, we discussed responsibilities and liabilities incumbent upon Board members.
The seminar included a lengthy discussion about the importance of having under and un-insurance coverage as a motorist since that is the relevant coverage when involved in a bike crash. We encouraged FCC members to review their auto coverage policies to make sure that they have this line of coverage to protect themselves and family members. Members are invited to reach our office if they would like our assistance in reviewing insurance documents. Piscitello Law is proud to sponsor this dynamic and super engaged bike club.
Franklin County Cyclists
Franklin County is in the South-Central region of Pennsylvania, that includes Chambersburg, Mont Alto and the Waynesboro region. The team began in 2008 and by 2019, they registered as a 501c3 .
Their signature Rides are on Tuesday Evenings late April through mid-September. The ride starts at 5:30pm with 5 levels of riders all starting and ending at the same location. There are over 20 different starting locations.
