Thanks to our friends at West Chester Cycling Club (Chris, Marty) for inviting us to meet up with your club at Gresh Fit on February 1, 2024. Our first talk for the new year. Gresh Fit studios provided an excellent gathering place with a super pro AV set up. Thank you, Tim and Jack!
In light of recent injuries among WCCC members, the conversation about defensive driving was particularly engaging. We spent considerable time discussing the pros and cons about “…taking the lane…”. Most agreed that each situation varies and you will need to exercise good judgement. There is no one size fits all to this topic.
Another hot topic included insurance coverage and the merits of having “stacked” insurance on multiple vehicles on an auto policy. Many members reached out to our office after the talk to have Joey p review their auto policy to make sure that they had sufficient coverage in the event of a bike crash with a car who hits and runs or a driver who hits a cyclist and doesn’t have sufficient coverage. Several WCCC members actually changed their insurance policies to include UM/UIM coverage thanks to our conversation. Hooray!!
